Ripley (in Queensland) is a booming centre for investors

Located in Brisbane’s fast-growing western corridor, Ripley’s future is shining bright with booming infrastructure and rapid population growth.

The exciting vision for the Ripley region is all about community and living in a healthy, natural environment. Located just eight kilometres from the Ipswich CBD and a 45-minute drive from Brisbane’s, the rising suburb is expected to be home to 120,000 people by 2031.

Springfield, just 13 kilometres away, has been on DPN’s investment radar for many years. Greater Springfield is one of Australia’s few planned cities. Created in 1997 on 7000 vacant acres, the city is Australia’s largest master planned community and the tenth largest globally. In 2015 it won the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s national award for best master planned development. Springfield was seen as a social experiment at the time, now however, it has proven to be a roaring success.

With high-level infrastructure already in place and plans for mass expansion, Ripley is the new Springfield and firmly in the spotlight for investors.

Growth across all sectors

According to the Queensland Government, South East Queensland’s population is set to grow to around 5.5 million by 2041. Including Ripley, the population in Ipswich is growing at twice the rate of the rest of Queensland.

Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicates that dwelling approvals rose by 34.7 per cent since last year. Corresponding with the population growth, investments in the region overall include $11.4 billion for education, $5.5 billion for transport, $12.3 billion for health and $8.8 billion towards community services.

Key projects in the works include:

  • $366 million extension of the Centenary Highway through Ripley to Ipswich
  • $4 billion duplication of the Ipswich Motorway
  • $2.3 billion Western Corridor Recycled Water Project
  • $750 million Dusit Thani Resort

Ripley Town Centre leads the way

With Stage One completed in 2018, the $1.5 billion Ripley Town Centre already offers a Coles, medical centre, restaurants and specialty services. Once completed, the 25-hectare precinct will be the bustling heart of the region, with parklands joining access to healthcare, education, sporting and recreation facilities, and a proposed train station all within a 20-minute walk. It’s expected to create more than 20,000 jobs in the area.

Including Ripley, the population in Ipswich is growing at twice the rate of the rest of Queensland.

Major transport infrastructure

Along with a proposed transit hub to link Ripley with Ipswich, Springfield and Brisbane, recent upgrades are reducing congestion on local roads. Namely, the $475 million Richlands to Springfield dual track passenger rail line. A Ripley Valley bus route was also introduced as part of the Queensland Government’s investment.

Modern conveniences with natural lifestyle perks

Ripley Valley is surrounded by nature reserves, yet just a quick drive to the bustling hubs and big smoke facilities of Ipswich and Springfield. Train links and highways ensure an easy ride to the Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast’s beaches. However, local attractions and ever-increasing recreational facilities are on the suburb’s doorstep.

Spring Mountain Conservation Reserve features mountain biking and hiking trails, picnic areas and wildlife-spotting opportunities. One of the largest public lagoons in the Southern Hemisphere, the Orion Lagoon is home to swimming pools, splash parks for kids and barbecues. Then, there’s Robelle Domain Parklands, with 11 kilometres of biking and walking paths, gardens and tree-top walks.

With the Ripley Town Centre masterplan encompassing community facilities based on walkability, connectivity and a smart city framework, this is a satellite city brimming with lifestyle perks and opportunities for investors.

Why invest in Ripley:

  • High-level infrastructure in place

  • Major transport infrastructure
  • Modern conveniences with natural lifestyle perks
